Beta reader guidelines

As a Beta Reader, there are only a few, but important things to know.

  • As a beta reader you aren’t responsible for editing. You can ignore spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.

  • Review the questionnaire before you start reading the book.

  • Take notes as you read relating to the questions on the Beta Reader forum.

  • Be honest with your feedback. If something doesn't work, be clear and constructive about why.

  • Be specific and descriptive with your feedback, both positive and negative.

  • Keep an eye on your email for follow up questions. I may have a question about your feedback.

  • You aren’t restricted to the just questionnaire. If you want to comment on something not covered in the questions, go for it.

  • Observe the deadline.

There is no right or wrong response.
Don't change your response to a question because it might conflict with what someone else has said. I want each of you to be honest with your feedback. That's what beta readers do, right?

    Using Your Forum

Here's a few things you need to know.

You can post to the existing threads, but can't create new ones in the questionnaire section.
    BUT... (optional)
you can create new threads in the Talk About Anything section. That's an open forum where you can have civil discussions about anything book related. Feel free to talk with each other, share your thoughts about the book, and each others responses to the questions.

    Optional

If you want to stay informed of follow up questions and comments on the forum:
    Follow the easy steps below:

Click on EDIT PROFILE (option button at right side of screen)

    That's it! Thank you.

This part is a no-brainer, but I’m obligated to state the obvious.

It is prohibited to duplicate, or share any part, or whole of the exclusive property (as stated above) of Chris Fritschi without his express permission.
